Comments on Belief and Beyond

چکیده
In their paper “Belief and Beyond: Toward a New Orientation in Epistemology”[2] Bandyopadhyay and Taper argue that this century’s epistemological tradition has emphasized only the concept of belief and paid insufficient attention to the notion of evidence. In particular they argue that evidence is a conceptually distinct concept from that of belief and thus conflating the notions of belief and evidence leads to error. They further argue that evidence ought to be accorded similar status to belief in epistemology because of it’s utility in answering questions and resolving paradoxes.
